Banyuwangi International is the first “Green Airport” in Indonesia. Originally known as Blimbingsari Airport to land smaller aircrafts, it went through a major renovation in 2017 with an environmentally friendly concept. The terminal was designed with “open-air” idea to reduce the usage of air conditioning. It can accomodate up to 2 million passengers a year.

in 2018 the runway was improved so it could land bigger planes such as Boeing 737 and Airbus 320. The airport served as a buffer airport for Ngurah Rai International during the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting in Bali in 2018.

DMK Group supplied the asphalt/bitumen for the runway extention and improvement projects in 2018.
