As more large aircrafts landed and took off from Juanda International, better runway surface was needed. PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) as the project owner decided that the best way to resurface the runway was to use Polymer Modified Asphalt, PG76. We supplied the PG76 Shell Cariphalte from our own blending plant under the strict supervision from SHELL BITUMEN. The work could only be done during night time after the last flight landed and had to be finished at dawn just in time for the first flight to take off.
